With 108 beads, this full sized mala also makes a stylish necklace. 108 is number of great importance and significance, particularly in the Hindu faith. We arrive at the number 108 iby multiplying the 12 astrological houses by the 9 planets.

Malas also have a Guru bead, or tassel, which reminds us of the teachers in our lives.

Made with 3 natural Amazonite Stones, all carefully carved to make the perfect sphere, showing the natural patterns and colourings within each unique stone.

Amazonite
Amazonite is the stone known for expression, balance, and inspiration. It is a good energy filter, soothing aggravation and emotional trauma, easing irritation and calming all of your chakras.

OM Symbol
The ‘Om’ Symbol pendant on a brown and gold backing represents the whole universe, and the first sound of creation.

Guru Tassel
The tassel represents the connection to the divine spirit, your highest truth. A reminder that we are all connected – regardless of the challenges that we face.

How to Use a Mala

Hold your mala in the right hand, using the thumb to flick one bead to the next, with the mala draped over the middle finger. Your index finger represents ego, the greatest impediment to Self-Realization, so avoid it (as with the ego) when chanting your mantra.

With the Mala between your thumb and middle finger, pass the beads through the finger and thumb one at a time, whilst repeating your mantra silently or audibly.  The mantra is repeated until all 108 beads have been passed and the Guru tassel is reached, when the the Mala is reversed and the process is repeated.

Mantras are used extensively in meditation, as a manner to draw the minds focus and quieten the “monkey mind” allowing the user to reach higher levels of mental and spiritual clarity.
