It Boosts Creativity
Who doesn’t need a creativity boost once in a while? I know I do, regularly!
Not only does meditation help you find creative solutions to problems, it can also help with your actual creativity.
How it works
- As adults, we are expected to behave a certain way in society and to conform to the normal order of how people think and act.
- Your mind is your personal sanctuary and within it, you can do whatever you choose, without fear of judgement or ridicule.
- In fact, our subconscious mind can be a treasure trove of ideas and inspiration, as it doesn’t operate on the same level we do, with our daily constrained behaviour and societal expectations.
Many times, we lose our creativity thanks to the everyday stresses of life and a lack of time to devote to creative pursuits. Other times, we lose creativity due to societal conditioning and expectations.
As adults, we are expected to behave a certain way in society and to conform to the normal order of how people think and act. Just take a moment to re-read that last sentence and let it sink in. I would wager that’s a pretty good description of how you live your life, more concerned about what other people think about your behaviour, than you are about how you think and feel.
Your mind is your personal sanctuary and within it, you can do whatever you choose, without fear of judgement or ridicule. So, it makes sense that meditation, which takes you deep within the mind, is the perfect space to explore our creative thoughts. It doesn’t matter what that creativity is, whether it’s artistic ideas, musical inspiration or perhaps the framework for a new novel, you can mine the depths of your mind to find the creative boost you need. Try things out in your own virtual reality space, deep within your mind and quiz the higher functioning parts of your subconscious for input and suggestions.
In fact, our subconscious mind can be a treasure trove of ideas and inspiration, as it doesn’t operate on the same level we do, with our daily constrained behaviour and societal expectations. Unleash your higher subconscious and you may just find that ideas and answers come to you much more easily than you had imagined possible.
Many of history’s greatest minds, have said that their extraordinary theories and discoveries “just came to them”. The truly astonishing thing though, is that they came from within – they merely created a mindset where the thoughts could surface and materialise.
So who knows, maybe the next great leap in understanding, or a masterpiece that will be revered for generations, might just be hidden away in a corner of your subconscious, just waiting to be found.
